What is the Essential Question that drives my work?
What can I learn about societies and their values from around the world by studying their myths?
I used many different kinds of techniques such as oil pastel, and pen. Investigations 7 (Trojan Horse) and 8 (Twins) are examples of my practice in oil pastels. Investigation 6 (Zal & Rudabeh) is an example of Pen & Ink. I found a process that work for me started with a sketch on paper. I then refined the sketch into a composition that may be a rough draft or become the final piece. I would use my media to create the final product. My works includes many different types of experimentation. #5 (Zal) is an example of experimenting with a combination of mixed media (acrylic/oil pastel). I used a background wash of acrylic and then added color. #2 (The downfall of Achilles) is an example of experimenting with layering tissue paper on top of a graphite drawing. #4 (The Reaper's Victims) was a revision of the composition to convey better meaning. #10 (Egyptian Goddess) was revised by ____ #11 was revised because the original composition was weak and the execution was sloppy. While exploring my investigation, I formed a new question to deepen my thought process. How can I visually illustrate already written stories to enhance the meaning and mood of the story for the reader?
